Description
The Wells Mountain Initiative (WMI) Scholarship is a program aimed at supporting students from developing countries seeking higher education. The scholarship is available for the academic year of 2026 and covers all fields of study for students pursuing their first Certificate, Diploma, or Bachelor's Degree. WMI aims to create social change through education, providing financial and logistical support to students throughout their studies. They have a particular focus on students who demonstrate commitment to community service, requiring applicants to have previously participated in volunteer work and to complete a significant number of community service hours during their academic tenure. Scholarships range between $1,500 and $3,000, covering a variety of expenses including tuition, accommodation, and books. The selection process is rigorous, involving multiple review stages, with applicants from developing countries being prioritized. Eligible candidates must meet specific criteria including age limits, academic performance, and future plans to contribute to their communities. Applications are to be submitted online along with necessary supporting documents by the deadline of March 2, 2025. Finalists will be announced in August 2025, and selected scholars are expected to maintain satisfactory academic performance throughout their studies to continue receiving funding.
