Description
The South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) offers bursaries for the 2025 academic year in collaboration with the innobiz DUT Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. These bursaries are aimed at students pursuing studies in Commerce, Engineering, Information Technology/Computer Science, and Science. The bursary covers significant expenses including registration fees, tuition fees, books, and accommodation, with a maximum limit of R150,000 annually. Applicants must be South African citizens, under 25 years, have completed Matric, and must demonstrate financial need. A minimum academic average of 65% in recent studies is required, with preference given to students with disabilities and those under affirmative action policies. To apply, students need to complete the online application form and submit required documents via email. The closing date for applications is February 7, 2025, and candidates will be informed about their application status within four weeks after the closing date.

Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a South African citizen

- Must be enrolled/accepted to study at a recognised and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa
- Must have achieved a minimum overall average of 65% in most recent studies
- Must be in need of financial assistance
- Preference for students with disabilities and those meeting affirmative action policies

- 2024 academic record/results (if currently studying, certified copy)
- Acceptance letter from academic institution for 2025
- Parents or guardians ID documents (certified copies)
- Proof of household income of parents/guardians (latest payslips, affidavit if unemployed, proof of pension or social grant if applicable) (certified copies, not older than 3 months)
