Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Must be under 30 years old
  • Must have completed Matric or be currently in Matric
  • Must intend on studying full-time towards an undergraduate degree in Economics
  • Must be entering 1st year of study in 2026
  • Must have been accepted or provisionally accepted to study at a recognised and accredited university in South Africa
  • Must have achieved a minimum overall average of 70% for the 2025 academic year
  • Must have achieved a minimum overall result of 70% for English and Mathematics
  • Must be in financial need
  • Must be unable to afford to attend university without a bursary
  • Must be from a disadvantaged background

  • Motivational essay (approximately 250 words)
