Provided by:South African National Parks (SANParks)
Description
The SANParks Bursary Programme for 2026 invites students from South Africa to apply for financial support towards their studies in various fields related to environmental sciences, social sciences, and tourism. The South African National Parks (SANParks) is dedicated to promoting biodiversity and community engagement in areas surrounding their national parks. Established in terms of the National Environmental Management: Protected Areas Act, SANParks aims to empower young individuals, particularly those from communities near national parks, through educational assistance that encourages participation in conservation initiatives. To apply for the bursary program, candidates must meet specific eligibility criteria, including being a South African citizen, aged between 18 and 35, and either currently studying in Matric or having completed it. Eligible applicants should plan to study full-time at accredited institutions in specified fields. The bursary covers studies towards undergraduate diplomas or degrees, particularly in Environmental Sciences, Social Sciences, and Tourism. The selection process emphasizes academic performance, gender diversity, and the inclusion of individuals with disabilities. Applications are submitted via email, where candidates must include a variety of supporting documents, including a motivational letter and proof of their educational status. The application deadline is set for August 18, 2025, and successful candidates will be notified by January 30, 2026. For any queries, candidates can reach out directly to SANParks.
