Description
The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) is inviting students to apply for their bursary programme for the 2025 academic year. The bursary aims to support students pursuing a Bachelor of Health Sciences, especially in the critical field of Immunohematology. A total of 10 bursaries will be awarded, focusing on increasing access to education while addressing the shortage of skilled individuals in blood transfusion. The bursary covers tuition fees, study materials, partial accommodation costs, and a monthly stipend, allowing students to gain hands-on experience through Work Integrated Learning at SANBS laboratories. Eligible candidates must meet specific requirements including being South African citizens under 30 years of age, pursuing relevant studies, and demonstrating financial need. The application process involves submitting a completed form along with supporting documentation via email by January 31, 2025. Late submissions will not be accepted. Eligibility Requirements
- South African citizen
- Under 30 years old
- Studying towards a Bachelor of Health Sciences with Immunohematology as an elective
- In 2nd or 3rd year of study
- Minimum overall average of 65% in previous year of study
- Not receiving any other financial support through another bursary
- Preference for students with a total household income of not more than R600 000 per annum
