Description

The Portia M Foundation invites students to apply for their bursary programme for the 2025 academic year. This bursary aims to assist students in their undergraduate studies across all fields. Since its inception in 2011, the Portia M Foundation has committed a total of R300,000 towards bursary funding, focusing on covering a portion of tuition fees. The bursary does not encompass accommodation, book allowance, food, or other expenses, highlighting its intent to alleviate only some of the financial burdens associated with university education. To qualify, applicants must meet specific minimum entry criteria: they should have completed Matric with strong academic performance, be either entering undergraduate studies or completing their final year, and must have acceptance at a recognized South African institution. Importantly, applicants must not be benefiting from any other form of financial aid like NSFAS. The application process requires candidates to submit their applications online, along with essential documents that validate their academic standing and personal identification. Applications must be uploaded before the closing date of January 31, 2025, to avoid disqualification. After submission, shortlisted candidates can expect feedback by February 15, 2025, while others will need to consider their application unsuccessful if no communication is received by that date. The bursary offers a vital opportunity for students pursuing education in an array of disciplines, making higher learning more accessible and less financially daunting for deserving candidates.
