Description
The Paper Manufacturers Association of South Africa (PAMSA) is offering bursaries for students pursuing a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering for the 2025-2026 academic year. PAMSA, representing over 90% of South Africa’s paper, packaging, and tissue manufacturers, is committed to promoting paper as a renewable resource. The bursary aims to support students from selected universities, providing R320,000 over two years, covering tuition and research expenses. Recipients will engage in hands-on research addressing real-world challenges in the pulp and paper industry. Eligibility requirements include South African citizenship, being in the final year of relevant undergraduate studies or already graduated, and having a strong academic record with an average of at least 60%. Applications must be submitted online and include essential documentation, and there is a strong emphasis on following the deadlines, with a closing date of June 6, 2025. Late applications are accepted until June 27, 2025, but preferential treatment is given to those applying by the official closing date. Eligibility Requirements
- Preferably a South African citizen
- Final year of BEng/BSc Chemical Engineering studies OR a graduate
- Completed studies in 5 years or less OR on track to complete in 5 years or less
- Intend to study towards a Masters in Chemical Engineering in 2026
- Studying at one of the participating universities
- Strong academic record, minimum overall average of 60% in final year
