Description
Old Mutual is offering a bursary for the 2026 academic year for students pursuing a qualification in Accounting Science with a focus on the Chartered Accounting Stream. This bursary covers important expenses like tuition, study materials, meals, and accommodation, and provides additional opportunities for vacation work during school holidays. Applicants must be South African citizens currently in or who have completed Matric and must meet specific academic performance criteria, including securing at least 70% in Mathematics and achieving commendable grades in other subjects. Successful applicants will not only receive financial support but also benefit from career training and exposure to various finance sectors as outlined by SAICA. Preference is given to students from previously disadvantaged backgrounds, including those with disabilities. Eligibility Requirements
- You must be a South African citizen
- Currently in Matric or have completed Matric
- Must NOT have completed any post-Matric qualifications
- Studying or intending to study towards an undergraduate Accounting Science qualification
- Studying or have applied to study at a designated tertiary institute
- Minimum 70% for Mathematics in Matric
- Minimum 60% for English HL or 70% for English FAL in Matric
- Minimum 70% for other subjects in Matric
- Committed to enter the Old Mutual Chartered Accounting Training Programme
- Preference to under-represented groups, including students with disabilities and disadvantaged backgrounds
