Description
The National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF) is offering bursaries for students wishing to pursue studies in areas related to film and television for the 2026 academic year. The NFVF aims to support the growth of the film industry by providing financial aid to students from previously disadvantaged backgrounds. Bursaries are available for both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, specifically in film or television-related fields, while excluding performing arts-related courses. The coverage incluir full tuition fees and additional support for first-year expenses concerning meals and accommodation up to R50,000. Applicants must meet specific eligibility criteria such as being a South African citizen, having completed Matric, being enrolled in a relevant field of study at an accredited institution, and having demonstrated financial need with a household income below R600,000. Interested candidates must apply through the NFVF online application platform, ensuring to submit the required documents by the stated deadline of July 31, 2025. Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a South African citizen
- Completed Matric
- Studying or intending to study full-time in film or television
- Registered or provisionally registered at a recognized tertiary institution in South Africa
- Strong academic record
- Overall average of 60% if currently studying
- Proven financial need with a household income of less than R600,000
- Preference for students enrolled at public tertiary institutions
