Description

The Newcastle Municipality Bursary for 2025 is aimed at supporting students residing within the Newcastle Municipality in KwaZulu-Natal. This bursary program, referred to as the Mayoral Bursary Registration Fund, welcomes applications from students planning to begin their 1st year of undergraduate studies in any field, with a specific emphasis on scarce skills. To qualify, applicants must be South African citizens residing permanently in the Newcastle Municipality, and they should be between the ages of 14 and 35. Completion of matric is mandatory, alongside being accepted to an accredited higher education institution in South Africa. It is critical that applicants are not currently receiving funding from NSFAS and do not have outstanding tertiary fees. Interested applicants can collect the necessary application forms from the Newcastle Municipality Building, Office F28, or from any Municipal Libraries. Alongside the completed forms, applicants must submit various supporting documents, including certified copies of identity documents and their matric certificate, proof of acceptance for further studies, and a motivational letter, among others. All applications must be submitted in person to the designated Newcastle Municipality office by the closing date, 24 January 2025.
