Provided by:Department of Infrastructure
Description
The Masakh’iSizwe (MiS) Bursary Programme, established by the Western Cape Government in 2006, aims to address skills shortages and empower youth by providing opportunities for obtaining tertiary qualifications through full-time studies at higher education institutions in the Western Cape Province. Leveraging partnerships with universities and NGOs, the programme supports students pursuing studies in the transport, engineering, and built environment fields that are critical for public service. For the 2026 academic year, applicants are invited to apply for this bursary to cover tuition, textbooks, accommodation, and more for qualifying courses like Architecture, Civil Engineering, and Transport Economics, among others. The application process requires a comprehensive set of documents to ensure eligibility, and candidates will have access to extensive support services and potential employment opportunities upon graduation. Shortlisted applicants will be communicated with by a specific date, and an obligation to work in the public service after graduation is required. Applications must be finalized before the closing date to be considered for funding.
