Description
The Kader Asmal Fellowship Programme provides financial support for South African students pursuing postgraduate studies in Ireland's leading higher education institutions. This fully-funded scholarship programme, managed by the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, is designed to foster leadership potential and improve relations between Ireland and Africa. The initiative offers 12 annual awards covering a wide array of fields including Business, Economics, Engineering, Human Rights Law, and more. Eligible candidates must meet specific criteria including residency in South Africa, completion of an Honours-level qualification within the last 12 years, and minimum academic performance requirements. The fellowship also covers various expenses like tuition fees, travel costs, accommodation, and a living allowance. Eligibility Requirements
- Resident national of South Africa
- Completed an Honours’ level qualification within the last 12 years
- Minimum average of 3.0 (4.0 scale)
- Completed Honours qualification at an accredited institution
- Not have completed a Master’s or higher level qualification
- Applying to study towards a Master’s level qualification in Ireland
- Chosen 2 relevant courses from the Ireland-Africa Fellows Programme Directory
- At least 2 years of relevant working experience
- Showcase leadership abilities and aspirations
- Commitment to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals
- Understanding of academic and English language proficiencies
- Not applied for the Kader Asmal Fellowship Programme more than once previously
