Description
The Fine Music Radio (FMR) Bursary Trust Awards are designed to assist students pursuing performance diplomas or degrees in music. The bursary aims to encourage talent in various music genres, including classical, jazz, and African music. Each year, notable prizes totaling R120,000 are awarded, catering to various categories such as Classical Vocal, Classical Instrumental, Jazz Vocal/Instrumental, and African Music. Students submitting their applications must provide a pre-recorded audition video as part of the first round, with selected finalists performing at the Baxter Concert Hall. The bursary is exclusive to South African citizens currently residing in South Africa and enrolled in a recognized tertiary institution. Applications must meet specific eligibility criteria, including proper documentation, to be considered for the awards. The deadline for applications is 13 June 2025.
