Description
The Eastern Cape Department of Agriculture is offering a bursary for the 2026 academic year aimed at supporting students pursuing degrees in Agricultural Engineering, Bio-Resource Engineering, and Veterinary Technology. The bursary will cover essential expenses such as registration fees, tuition fees, accommodation, meals, and prescribed textbooks, but does not cover any historical debts. Recipients of the bursary are required to fulfill a service contract, working for the Department for a duration equal to that of the funding received. To be eligible, applicants must be South African citizens currently in Matric or who have completed their Matric, with specific subject requirements for each field. Financial need is a crucial criterion, with household income limits set at R350,000, or R600,000 for beneficiaries with disabilities. The application process requires the submission of a completed application form and various supporting documents, including official identification and proof of education. Interested candidates must ensure their applications are submitted before the deadline of November 10, 2025, and inquire with the Department if they have any questions regarding the opportunity.
