Description
The Compensation Fund Bursary Programme for 2025 invites applications from South African students in need of financial assistance for their studies. The bursary is aimed specifically at two groups: unemployed COID beneficiaries with permanent disabilities due to workplace injuries, and dependants of COID beneficiaries or fatally injured employees aged between 17 and 35. The bursaries will cover a wide array of studies including engineering, health sciences, information technology, and many more, allowing for both career reintegration and self-employment opportunities. Applicants must meet specific eligibility criteria and submit a comprehensive set of documentation. The bursary covers essential expenses such as tuition fees, study materials, accommodation, and a monthly stipend, and is renewable based on satisfactory academic performance. Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a South African citizen
- Currently unemployed (for Group 1)
- Of working age (for Group 1)
- COID beneficiary with a permanent disablement (for Group 1)
- Studying or intend to study within the fields mentioned
- Accepted at a recognised institution (TVET, CET, or HEI)
- Between 17 and 35 years old (for Group 2)
- Dependant of a COID beneficiary with a permanent disablement or fatally injured employee (for Group 2)

- Latest academic transcript if currently studying
- Proof of acceptance from an approved institution
- Tuition fees quotation if applicable
- Prescribed Learning Resources quotation if available
- Proof of residence
- Proof of disability (verification by a Health Care Professional)
- Parents/guardians ID documents if applicable
- Unabridged birth certificate showing COID beneficiary details
- Matric June results
- Pre-entry assessment if applying for the apprenticeship programme
- Proof of income
