Description
The Bigen Bursary Program for 2026 is offered by Bigen, a renowned black-owned African infrastructure development group. It aims to empower South African students pursuing degrees in various engineering disciplines, including Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Electronic, Industrial, Mechanical, and Mechatronics Engineering. This program emphasizes nurturing young engineering talent through financial support for tuition, registration, and educational materials, while excluding accommodation fees. Recipients will benefit from paid vacation work, regular communication with Bigen, invitations to special events, and membership in the Bigen Young Professionals Forum. To qualify, applicants must meet specific educational and citizenship criteria and demonstrate leadership capabilities. The application process requires submission of several documents and is facilitated online. Interested candidates need to apply by August 30, 2025, to be considered.

Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must be studying towards a BSc or BEng Engineering degree qualification listed
- Must be studying at a recognised and accredited university in South Africa
- Must have achieved a minimum average of 70% if in the first year of study
- Must have achieved a minimum average of 65% if in the second or third year of study
- Must NOT be receiving any other bursary funding or NSFAS
- Must have Leadership Acumen
