Description
The Assmang & Ga-Segonyana Local Municipality Bursary offers financial support to students residing in the Ga-Segonyana Local Municipality for the 2025 academic year. The bursary aims to assist students in pursuing their studies within specific fields, particularly focusing on areas that are essential for the development of the local community and economy. To be eligible, applicants must be South African citizens, aged between 18 and 35, and have completed Matric with specific academic achievements in their relevant fields. The bursary supports students who are either currently studying or have been accepted into recognized universities or universities of technology in South Africa. A total of four bursaries will be awarded, providing critical financial support to deserving students in the Northern Cape province. The application process requires certain supporting documents to be submitted, and shortlisted candidates will be notified soon after the closing date. Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a South African citizen
- Reside within Ga-Segonyana Local Municipality
- Age between 18 and 35 years
- Completed Matric
- Studying full-time towards a qualification in one of the fields listed
- In 1st, 2nd or final year of study
- Studying or accepted to study at an accredited University or University of Technology in South Africa
- Achieved a minimum of level 5 for Mathematics and Physical Science in Matric for Science fields
- Achieved a minimum overall average of 60% in Matric for non-Science fields
- Meets the minimum requirements for selected qualification
- In financial need and meet the means test requirements
- Not receiving any other bursary funding or student loan
- Preference given to students from historically disadvantaged backgrounds
