Description
The ABSIP Bursary, provided by the Association of Black Securities and Investment Professionals (ABSIP), invites students to apply for the STANLIB Bursary for the 2025 academic year. The bursary is tailored for historically disadvantaged South African students pursuing qualifications in Investment Management or related fields, with preference given to degrees such as Bachelor of Business Science, Bachelor of Commerce, and Bachelor of Science. ABSIP promotes a more equitable representation in the financial sector, actively supporting black professionals through initiatives like this bursary. The program covers essential expenses including tuition fees, textbooks, and accommodation, ensuring the financial viability of students during their studies. Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must be from a historically disadvantaged background
- Must be Black (as defined by the B-BBEE Act)
- Must have completed Matric
- Must be studying or intend on studying full-time towards an Investment Management career related qualification
- Must be accepted and or enrolled at one of the listed universities
- Must have a strong academic record
- Must have achieved a minimum average of 75% for core academic modules/subjects
- Must intend on pursuing a career within the Investment field
- Must be in financial need
- Must NOT have permanent work experience (except for vacation work experience)
- Must NOT be a STANLIB employee or a relative of a STANLIB employee
- Preferably must also demonstrate leadership qualities and have participated in extramural activities

- Academic Record/Transcripts (on institution's letterhead)
- Quote or fee statement from the University (on institution's letterhead)
- Motivational letter stating why you wish to study or are studying towards an Investment Management qualification (1 page)
- Parents or guardians ID documents (certified copies)
- Parents or guardians proof of income (3 months latest payslips: certified copies / affidavit if unemployed)
- Parents or guardians 3 months bank statements
