Description
The FirstRand Empowerment Foundation (FREF) is inviting eligible students to apply for its Honours Bursary Programme for the 2025 academic year. This programme aims to support South African citizens who are pursuing postgraduate studies in various fields, including but not limited to Accounting, Actuarial Science, and Environmental Sciences. The bursary seeks to contribute to the educational advancement and empowerment of young individuals, thereby fostering inclusive growth in South Africa. The eligibility criteria are stringent, requiring applicants to be aged between 21 and 35, having completed their matric with acceptable mathematics scores, and having attained their undergraduate degrees within the last three years. Applicants must also demonstrate financial need, with a family income cap, making this bursary particularly aimed at those from lower-income backgrounds. Interested candidates must provide a comprehensive application, including essential documents and submit their applications through an online portal, ensuring they meet the application deadline of 4 April 2025. The foundation's vision is rooted in equity, aiming to dismantle barriers to educational access and promote a more equitable economic landscape in South Africa through education.
