The FirstRand Empowerment Foundation (FREF) is inviting eligible students to apply for its Honours Bursary Programme for the 2025 academic year. This programme aims to support South African citizens who are pursuing postgraduate studies in various fields, including but not limited to Accounting, Actuarial Science, and Environmental Sciences. Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Age between 21 and 35 years
  • Completed Matric with a minimum of 60% in Mathematics (NOT Mathematical Literacy)
  • Completed an Undergraduate degree between 2022 and 2024
  • Enrolled in a full-time 1 year honours degree program
  • Pursuing first postgraduate qualification
  • Studying at a public university in South Africa
  • Minimum overall average of 60% in undergraduate studies
  • Combined gross family income not more than R600 000 per annum
